Benton Citrange
Benton Citrange
Benton Citrange is a hybrid citrus rootstock created by crossing Citrus aurantium and Citrus paradisi. It is popular among citrus growers for its adaptability and ability to enhance tree vigour. With moderate growth and yields, it balances efficiency and productivity, making it suitable for commercial cultivation.
The fruit quality from Benton Citrange is generally good, with favourable taste and marketability. It also demonstrates resilience against certain pests and diseases, including Phytophthora and CTV (Citrus tristeza virus). However, it struggles in highly alkaline soils and is susceptible to exocortis, requiring careful soil management for successful cultivation.
